We accept referrals for court ordered visitations and safe exchanges. We also accept county social service referrals. When requesting our services in court, please ask the judge to only specify how many days per week and how many hours per visit. We cannot guarantee that definite times stated in a court order can be accommodated due to our scheduling needs.
Complete intake does not occur until both parties contact us by phone. A full intake with both parents (at separate times) will be conducted prior to the first visitation. The cost for supervised visitation is now on a sliding fee. Cost for services will be determined at intake. Visitations are generally in two hour time slots. We have evening and weekend times available.
The cost for safe exchange is free of charge and is an excellent option for parents who want to keep exchange time conflict free since there is no need for either parent to see the other. Safe exchanges are scheduled each Friday evening and each Sunday afternoon (unless a holiday weekend, then return exchanges will occur Monday evening).

Our primary goal is to keep you and your children safe while allowing visiting parents opportunities to build and maintain healthy relationships with their children and continue their important role as parent. Facilitators will remain non-judgmental and objective toward all participants. Our visitation rooms are child friendly and we provide age appropriate toys and games for you to interact with your child. Our facility is secure and is equipped with security alarms and cameras. Our cameras monitor both the inside and the outside of the facility. We also have two separate entrances and instructions on where to enter and exit will be given during intake. The primary goal of the center is to give you and your child a safe and secure place to have quality time with each other.
All visits are confidential and facilitators will remain neutral. At least two trained facilitators will be on the premises at all times to monitor each visit. Facilitators are mandated reporters. If abuse by either parent is witnessed, reported or suspected we will notify child protection immediately. If violence occurs, local law enforcement will be called. If a parent asks an inappropriate question, is showing inappropriate behaviors, or a child is becoming obviously upset, the parent will be asked to end that conversation or to discontinue the behavior. If conversation or behavior continues the visit will be ended. The facilitator may terminate a visit at any time and for any reason. We reserve the right to discontinue services to any family at any time. We also have the right to decline referrals for any reason.
Our facilitators are not parenting educators, coaches, assessors or victim advocates. Our facilitators will not interfere with any conversation a child wishes to have with a visiting parent providing the visiting parent is responding to the child in an age appropriate manner. We will not video or audio record any visitation or safe exchange. We do not provide food. We do have a kitchen for your use however you must bring your own food and clean up the kitchen afterward.
Inclement Weather Policy
The WINDOW Visitation Center believes the safety of all children shall take precedence over any existing visitation or exchange schedule. Transporting children during severe weather endangers their health and well-being. Therefore, WINDOW has adopted the following policy.
On school days, if the home school district of the child or the Hinckley/Finlayson school district is closed, the visitation center will be closed as well. All visitations will be cancelled and rescheduled in accordance with client availability and in adherence to court orders. Additionally, for safe exchanges, if the school district where the non-custodial parent resides is closed, the exchange will be postponed until it is safe for the child to travel. For postponed safe exchanges, we will work with both parents to establish a time for the exchange after the weather has improved.
On non-school days and weekends, the center will be closed due to inclement weather at the discretion of the director. Clients will be notified by phone of closures as early as possible to avoid unnecessary travel. If either parent decides that travel in their area will potentially endanger their child, the parent can call the center to postpone the exchange or reschedule the visitation. Please call 320-384-6638 as soon as possible if you believe it is in your child’s best interest to postpone or reschedule. This number will ring directly to a staff cell phone and they will be able to assist you immediately. Please do not call WINDOW’s main number after hours and on weekends as this number forwards to the advocacy crisis line and they will not have any information about your visit or exchange.
